Marketing lead

Own marketing at 1StopLaundry — end to end, no hand-holding required.

We have people who post inconsistently and a designer who needs direction. We need someone to take ownership of the whole function: decide what we do, when, and why — and make it happen every week without us pushing.

What you'll own

  • Social content calendar and consistency across all channels
  • Blog content on the website
  • Newsletters (delegate standard sends; personally handle anything non-standard)
  • Manage our full-time design hire, plus external vendors, freelancers, or agencies
  • Build and run a repeatable “New City Launch” playbook: flyers, local conferences and meetups, Facebook groups, launch blog post, website push — checklist-driven for every new market
  • Grow brand and traffic in existing cities without relying on paid ads
  • Own the website experience — SEO, and continuously improving the booking funnel and conversion rate through A/B testing and behavior analytics (e.g. PostHog)
  • Analyze performance city-by-city and build market-specific growth initiatives
  • Develop partnerships with apartment buildings, property managers, local businesses, universities, and community organizations
  • Run competitor research and identify where we can differentiate
  • Track KPIs and report on acquisition and retention — decisions backed by data
  • Identify, test, and scale new marketing channels and growth experiments

What we need

  • Someone who can set strategy and execute — not just an ideas person
  • Experience managing people, freelancers, or agencies
  • Working knowledge of SEO, conversion optimization, and analytics tools (PostHog or similar)
  • Comfortable with local and grassroots growth tactics, not just digital ads
  • Can explain the “why” behind every marketing decision, not just the “what”

Compensation

  • $500 CAD per month
  • Equity/shares in the company available
